Our children come to us by court order when problems prevent the parents from caring for their children appropriately, or the children are found abandoned. At regularly scheduled court hearings, each case gets reviewed to determine the best placement for the child. If the parents have resolved the difficulty, the child may be returned to them. If that is not possible, the parents may name a relative to take care of the child. Absent one of these alternatives, the infants may be placed on the national adoption list, meaning the infants are available for Guatemalan adoption. Otherwise, the children will remain with us until 18 years of age when they decide to leave on their own.
The National Adoption Council (Consejo Nacional de Adopciones) handles the process of licensing our facility and adoption.
Here are some of our babies! All are precious and adorable!
